Sep. 20--President Donald Trump approved a disaster declaration Thursday for the flooding that plagued Illinois earlier this year with a list of areas that includes Whiteside and Carroll counties.
The declaration orders federal assistance be made available to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by severe storms and flooding from February 24 to July 3, 2019.
Federal funding is available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms and flooding.
The counties eligible for aid are Adams, Alexander, Bureau, Calhoun, Carroll, Cass, Fulton, Greene, Hancock, Henderson, Henry, Jackson, Jersey, Knox, Madison, Mercer, Monroe, Morgan, Pike, Randolph, Rock Island, Schuyler, Scott, St. Clair, Stephenson, Union, and Whiteside.
