Attempted Murders A Callahan man faces two counts of attempted murder in the second degree. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Bobby Joe Hyatt, 59, of 54546 Wilbur Jones Road, allegedly shot his daughter in her left hand March 4. The victim told detectives Hyatt was intoxicated and argued with her and her boyfriend because he thought they would not be at the home.

He allegedly began to choke the victim. When she broke free, Hyatt reportedly retrieved a handgun, firing a round that missed her. The two went into the living room, where Hyatt allegedly shot again, striking her hand.

The victim and her boyfriend fled the residence as another shot was fired toward the boyfriend, missing him. Three more shots were fired as the boyfriend got in his vehicle, driving to the end of the driveway and waiting for the female, who hid beside a shed until she saw Hyatt turn on a bedroom light.

They called him as they drove to UF Health, asking why he shot. He reportedly said, "Y'all made me do it."

A mutual friend called the couple and told them Hyatt called him and told him about the shooting.

Hyatt was arrested and bond is set at $2 million.
