Daily Courier, The (Forest City, NC)

911 Communications processed 567 calls over the weekend.

Police calls

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office processed 242 calls over the weekend; Forest City police reported 107 calls; Spindale police processed 82 calls; Rutherfordton police had 73 calls; Lake Lure police had 5 calls; Rutherford County EMS processed 89 calls.

Fire calls

Bostic firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide leak; Cliffside firefighters were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash; Ellenboro firefighters were called to a structure fire with Cliffside assisting on the scene; Forest City firefighters processed a motor vehicle crash; Green Hill firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire; Lake Lure firefighters were called to a residential fire alarm with Fairfield assisting on the scene; Sandy Mush firefighters were dispatched to a brush fire and a carbon monoxide leak; SDO firefighters responded to a fire investigation and a structure fire with Cliffside, Sandy Mush and Rutherfordton assisting on the scene; Shingle Hollow firefighters were called to a brush fire.

Taylor Bennett, 23, 1781 Piney Mountain Church Road in Ellenboro, charged with failure to appear on charges of no liability insurance and no registration card; being held on a $500 secured bond.

Hunter Blackwell, 22, Homeless, charged with second-degree trespass; released on Jan. 31, 2022.

Deborah Boone, 33, 494 Massey Deal Road in States-ville, charged with felony probation violation; being held on a $10,000 secured bond.

Deon Cash, 44, 612 E Main Street in Spindale, charged with non-support of a child, communicating threats and injury to personal property; being held on a $3,500 secured bond.

James Champion, 41, 110 Mimosa Lane in Ellenboro, charged with simple possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and failure to appear on charges of expired registration card/ tag and inspection violation; released on Jan. 30, 2022.

Brian Cole, 21, charged with defrauding innkeeper; released on Jan. 31, 2022.

Aaron Crawford, 39, 1694 Pollyspout Road in Marion, charged with speeding and driving while license revoked; released on Jan. 30, 2022.

Bridget Dsouza, 40, 565 John Hudson Road in Bostic, charged with failure to appear for the second time on charges of shoplifting concealment goods and failure to appear on misdemeanor; being held on a $500 secured bond.

David Godfrey, 59, 520 Byers Road in Forest City, charged with operating a vehicle without a license, driving while impaired and possession of an open container/consuming alcohol in the passenger area; released on Jan. 31, 2022.

Laura Heyda, 46, 119 Squirrel Den Road, charged with second-degree trespass; released on Jan. 30, 2022.

Terah Hunsicker, 19, 6311 Hudlow Road in Union Mills, charged with defrauding innkeeper; released on Jan. 31, 2022.

Jessica Lane, 36, 867 Spindale Street in Spindale, charged with communicating threats; released on Jan. 30, 2022.

Michael McMahan, 42, 701 Rock Road in Rutherfordton, charged with resisting a public officer and first-degree trespass; being held on a $1,000 secured bond.

Jeffrey Morrow, 28, 261 Long Street in Rutherfordton, charged with four counts of assault on a female; being held on a $8,000 secured bond.

Rashad Phillips, 35, 114 Walnut Street in Henrietta, charged with resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct; released on Jan. 29, 2022.

Casey Smithey, 29, 127 Setzer Street in Spindale, charged with assault on a female; released on Jan. 31, 2022.

Curtis Tipton, 35, 271 Phillips Drive in Forest City, charged with assault by pointing a gun; released on Jan. 29, 2022.
