Kruzinski named WSFS chief customer officer

WSFS Bank, Wilmington, announced that Shari Kruzinski has been named Executive Vice President, Chief Customer Officer.

In her new role, she will lead the bank's customer division including Customer Experience and enterprise-wide customer initiatives. Kruzinski will continue to oversee the Bank's retail offices, contact center, and retail operations.

Kruzinski started in 1989 at WSFS as a floating teller. As her career at WSFS progressed, her responsibilities expanded and she was promoted in April 2021 to EVP, Director of Retail Delivery, where she oversaw six banking regions, 89 banking offices, more than 700 associates, and a contact center.

She was instrumental in developing and executing key retail banking initiatives during the pandemic, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of associates, while also providing essential banking services. Kruzinski was integral in the integrations of First National Bank of Wyoming, Alliance Bank, Penn Liberty Bank, and Beneficial Bank into WSFS Bank and is one of the executives leading WSFS' current combination with Bryn Mawr Trust.

Strand named Winterthur CEO

Chris Strand, the longtime director of garden and estate at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, has been named Charles F. Montgomery Director and CEO. Strand has served as interim director and CEO at Winterthur since May.

As interim director, Strand was responsible for all aspects of museum, library, and garden operations. He continues that work in his new role.

Strand had served as Brown Harrington Director of Garden and Estate at Winterthur since May 2005, managing the care of Winterthur's nearly 1,000 acres and its resources through close work with its horticulture, natural lands, facilities, and security teams.

Strand has enjoyed a long career in horticulture outreach, education, and management. Prior to joining Winterthur, he worked as director of Green Spring Gardens in Fairfax County, Virginia, from January 1998 to May 2005.

Burroughs named diversity director at WSFS

WSFS Bank, Wilmington, announced Dr. Michelle L. Burroughs as its new Vice President, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I).

Burroughs will support WSFS in creating and delivering a work environment designed to foster a culture of inclusion and ensure the long-term sustainability of the Company's DE&I efforts.

Burroughs joins WSFS with almost 20 years of experience building and leading collaborative environments with a focus on diversity initiatives. She most recently served as Community Engagement Director at Nemours Children's Hospital, where she was a core leader on the D.R.I.V.E. (Diversity, anti-Racism, Inclusion, Value, and Health Equity) taskforce, provided strategic management of community engagement activities, and promoted equity in healthcare to reduce disparities in underserved or marginalized communities.

Raber named ChristianaCare VP

Kristen Raber has been appointed vice president of system integration for ChristianaCare, Delaware's largest hospital-healthcare system.

In this new role, she will be responsible for developing and maintaining a "consistent, efficient, and holistic" integration approach to all activities at ChristianaCare. She will oversee long-term value creation, helping to advance strategic objectives through participation in the evaluation of acquisitions and managing related integration processes.

Raber brings expertise in management, contract negotiations, project management and execution, and business engagement and change management. She has been with ChristianaCare since 2006 in a variety of roles, including IT project manager, business relationship manager, and corporate director of IT cloud innovation.

Russell named Chesapeake AVP

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation announces the appointment of Noah Russell, CPA, as assistant vice president and assistant treasurer. This appointment follows the retirement announcement of Thomas Mahn, current vice president, and treasurer, effective Dec. 31.

Russell has almost two decades of leadership experience across multiple areas of finance, accounting, and strategic planning. He joins Chesapeake Utilities from Energy Transfer LP, where he served as director of strategic planning, mergers, and acquisitions, since April 2017. Among his responsibilities were building and preparing long-range planning models with funds flow, coverage, and liquidity analysis; and creating models to evaluate the financial impacts of mergers and acquisitions.

In his new role, Russell is responsible for leading the company's treasury strategy.

Mahn joined Chesapeake Utilities in March 2012 as director of finance and was appointed treasurer in May 2012. He was appointed vice president of Chesapeake Utilities in May 2017. Prior to joining the Company, Mahn had 35 years of experience with Perdue Farms in Salisbury, MD, where he was vice president and treasurer. He will continue as an advisor to the company, working on various strategic projects in 2022.

Mannering named AVP at Goldey-Beacom College

Susan (Sue) M. Mannering has been named Assistant Vice President for Financial Services and Human Resources at Goldey-Beacom College, Pike Creek.

Previously the Executive Director of Finance and Human Resources, Mannering has been with the College for 26 years. During this time, she has assumed increased responsibilities, which include operational responsibility for the business office, financial aid, the campus store, human resources and the communications center.

Mannering chaired the Return-to-Work Task Force and spearheaded the college's response and policies for Covid-19. She managed the needs of students and employees and provided a safe return to on-campus studies and work.

Passaretti named director at ChristianaCare's CareVio

Michelle (Shelly) Passaretti has been appointed corporate director of CareVio at ChristianaCare.

She leads the CareVio operations team, driving the design and assessment of case management programming, payer relations, contract management, provider engagement, quality, and regulatory affairs. She also works closely with the analytics and informatics teams to optimize case management operations.

Passaretti brings 25 years of experience in healthcare and case management. Before joining ChristianaCare, she worked at Geisinger Health System, where she developed extensive leadership and management experience focused on optimizing clinical programs and revitalizing operations.

Boone named to board of health underwriters

Kristen Boone, senior benefit Consultant for the Lyons Companies, Wilmington, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of Delaware Association of Health Underwriters (DAHU), a chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters. Boone will serve as board secretary.

Ley named wound care medical director

James S. Ley, M.D., has been appointed medical director of ChristianaCare's Wound Care & Hyperbaric Medicine Center.

In this role, Dr. Ley is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, mentoring the interdisciplinary care team, and promoting services. The Center has two locations – at the Riverside Medical Arts Complex and Cecil County Campus – focused on healing wounds, determining their cause, and addressing barriers to healing.

He began at the Christiana Care Riverside location in 1999. Starting in 2009, he practiced at the Union Hospital Wound Care Center and became medical director.

Ley received his M.D. from the Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

He has served in various roles including chair of Internal Medicine and chair of Infection Control at Union Hospital. He has been a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at Union Hospital, and the Performance Improvement Committee at Christiana Hospital.

Knearl named Delaware external affairs director for Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Pennsylvania & Delaware announced today that Emily Knearl has joined the organization as Delaware External Affairs Advisor. Knearl joins TNC with a 25-year public policy and advocacy career in Delaware, most recently in the environmental and public health sectors.

The Nature Conservancy's Delaware chapter was founded in 1990 and merged with the Pennsylvania chapter in 2020.

Knearl will be managing TNC's Delaware government relations portfolio, which will include working with elected officials, government agencies, community members, nonprofits, staff, and volunteers to advance TNC's mission of protecting nature and preserving life. She will also be the primary media contact for TNC in the state.

Santora promotion

Santora CPA Group, a Newark-based Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm, announced that Tara Bolinski has been promoted to Senior Trust Administrator. She joined the firm's Trust Services Team in January 2019.
