TELL CITY — Per the notice published in advance of the meeting, the Perry County Commissioners met at the Perry County Commissioners Room on Dec. 4. The agenda items covered were approval of expenditures including Payroll from Dec. 4 of $175,993, Health Insurance Claims of $69,676, Flex Spending of $63, Dental Claims of $78, Vision Claims also for $78, Life Insurance Claims of $1,431, Pension Claims of $31.295, and the Claims Docket of $1,629,023.
Approvals were granted for the payment of the software maintenance contract of $8,000 and the final telephone bill resulting from the cancellation of the AT&T contract of $1,500.
Bids were submitted pertaining to fuel and crushed rock for road repairs. The committee authorized the purchase of the best value bids.
Sheriff Malone asked the commissioners for support of the K-9 program that he was recommending for implementation. Sheriff Malone cited the need for this program and estimated a first year cost for the program of approximately $25 thousand. The committee asked for additional details of the program and Sheriff Malone will provide those as quickly as possible.
The commission also approved the interlocal governmental agreement for using excess Economic Development Fund to offset the $45 annual tax payer cost of solid waste.
