The following information was released by the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis:
Monetary Advisor and Deputy Director Fabrizio Perri has been elected a fellow of the Econometric Society, a prestigious international society for the advancement of economic theory in its relation to statistics and mathematics.
Perris research focuses on business cycles, international macroeconomics, and inequality. He has published widely cited research on topics including current account and exchange rate dynamics, consumption and income inequality, and asset valuations. Perris articles have appeared in journals such as Econometrica, the Journal of Political Economy, The Review of Economic Studies, and the Journal of Monetary Economics. He is also a co-editor of Quantitative Economics.
The Econometric Society elects new fellows each year. Currently, eight fellows are Federal Reserve System economists. Perri joins Minneapolis Fed colleagues Juan Pablo Nicolini, Manuel Amador, and Cristina Arellano, who were elected by the society in 2009, 2020, and 2024, respectively.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is one of 12 regional Reserve Banks that, with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System, the nations central bank. The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is responsible for the Ninth Federal Reserve District, which includes Montana, North and South Dakota, Minnesota, northwestern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous banking organizations, and provides a variety of payments services to financial institutions and the U.S. government.
