People’s Trust Home Insurance – First to Respond in Michael’s Wake

PR Web

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) October 16, 2018

Many homeowners in the path of Hurricane Michael found themselves homeless, without power and with no ability to communicate their need for help in the aftermath of the Category 4 hurricane which touched down in Florida's Panhandle on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. People's Trust Insurance was the first home insurance carrier to set up at the Catastrophe Response Center in Panama City to help its policyholders. People's Trust showed up in less than 24 hours after the storm touched down in anticipation of the state declaring the site of the Catastrophe Response Center, where insurance carriers set up shop in a designated area to act as a hub for insureds to seek help. In addition to their Mobile Recovery Unit equipped to help their policyholders file claims, receive money on the spot for additional living expenses if their homes are uninhabitable, or loan them a generator, the company deployed trucks, equipment, and hundreds of emergency workers from their affiliated general contracting company, Rapid Response Team.

Rapid Response Team is the Emergency Services and Restoration crew that serves People's Trust policyholders any time of day or night across the state of Florida when they have a claim. Prior to the storm, People's Trust Insurance Company and their affiliate, the Rapid Response Team, activated their emergency response plan. As part of that plan, the Rapid Response Team, the largest insurance restoration general contractors in Florida, was deployed Tuesday to a staging area in Jacksonville, Florida with emergency services crews, trucks and supplies.
On Wednesday, once the storm passed they moved to ground zero and started helping People's Trust policyholders who needed emergency response on their home. The Rapid Response Team will continue to be on-hand with generators and emergency supplies to help affected policyholders.

People's Trust Insurance claims adjusters have also been dispatched to the Florida Panhandle to help policyholders file claims easily. The People's Trust Mobile Recovery Center is stationed in the Regal Cinema parking lot: 1515 West 23rd Street, Panama City, Florida, 32405 to help policyholders every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT through October 19, 2018. And, their team of claims adjusters can also be reached by phone 24/7 at 877-333-1230.

The Rapid Response Team maintains a fleet of more than 100 service trucks and vehicles and 10 Response Centers around the state for emergency mitigation and emergency recovery materials to help after widespread disasters. At the start of each hurricane season People's Trust Insurance and the Rapid Response Team participate in catastrophe drills to ready themselves in the event of a disaster. "We were first on the scene after Hurricane Irma hit, and we were able to be immediately be on scene now after Michael passed. It's critical to be
there so recovery can begin as soon as possible," said Steve Berman, Managing Director of Rapid Response Team.

CEO of People's Trust Insurance Company, George Schaeffer added, "we take being there for our policyholders seriously. A home insurance policy is a promise to be there when tragedy impacts your home. We work hard throughout the year to ensure we are ready and prepared to respond when disaster strikes - and while saying this is one thing - doing it is another. That's why we're in Panama City, and that's why we will continue to deploy resources to help our policyholders prevent further damage to their homes. Our policyholder's just need to come visit the Mobile Recovery Unit, and on the spot, we'll give them a check for additional living expenses."
