People on the Move: JM Family Enterprises announces senior level appointments

LisbethHeggerick has been named vice president of human resources for JM Family Enterprises in Deerfield Beach. Heggerick, who joined the company in 2006, was most recently assistant vice president of product development for JM&A Group, one of the company's subsidiaries. Additionally, Myra Adams was appointed vice president of marketing for Southeast Toyota Distributors. Adams joined the company in 1995 and was most recently assistant vice president of market representation.

Lifestyle

Grace Pfordresher has been named executive director of Abbey Delray, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations at the senior living community, which features 350 independent living apartment homes and a variety of amenities, in addition to on-site health services to its more than 450 residents. Pfordresher was most recently a senior administrator for HCR ManorCare, overseeing operations and marketing for multiple retirement communities in Southwest Florida. Before that, she held director roles at Senior Health Management and Genesis HealthCare, providing skilled nursing and health care services at retirement communities throughout Florida.

Carol Safran has been named managing director of Hadassah Florida Atlantic in Delray Beach. The organization serves over 24,000 women in 63 Hadassah chapters across Palm Beach and Martin counties.

Elaine Bloom, former Florida state representative, has been named president and CEO of Plaza Health Network, a nonprofit network of rehabilitation and skilled nursing centers in Miami-Dade County. In the past, she was a member of the board of directors for ANDRX Laboratories in Broward County.

Real estate

Astor Real Estate Group, the internal group of real estate agents for the Astor Cos., has hired Jennifer Pinchevski as in-house exclusive sales associate. Previously, she worked for J McMohan Limited.

Law

Miami banker Carlos Halley has been appointed as a public member with a three-year term on the board of The Florida Bar Foundation, a statewide charitable organization whose mission is to provide greater access to justice. George F. Knox, retired founding partner of The Knox Firm in Miami, has been appointed to a three-year term on the board of directors of the foundation. David B. Rothman, partner at Rothman & Associates P.A., took office as second vice president of The Florida Bar Foundation.

Juan D. Morales has been named global practice leader in Miami for the logistics and transportation practice group of Stanton Chase, an executive search firm with 76 offices in 43 countries.

Finance

Andrew Flick has joined Arven Advisors as a wealth management adviser and James Bonilla has been named managing director at Arven Financial in Miami.

L. James Miller, vice president of investments at Raymond James and Associates in Weston, was selected as a member of the Institute of Investment Management Consulting at Raymond James. The institute was developed to help financial advisers drive success in their consulting practices through educational programs, communications forums and networking with other financial advisers.

The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. announced Lawrence Adkins as managing partner of the new Boca Raton agency.

Education

Matthew Rothstein joined Gulliver Schools as the head coach for its girls volleyball team for the 2015-2016 school year, in Pinecrest. Rothstein began his coaching career in 2006 as an assistant coach for both the boys and girls varsity teams at Coral Reef Senior High School. Rothstein was later appointed director and head coach for the Tribe Volleyball Club in Florida, where he supervised all head coaches in Florida's south region. In 2013, he opened Soflo Sand Volleyball Academy, where, in addition to being the owner, he was the director and taught sand volleyball to children ages 13-18.
