HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania, Aug. 1 -- The Pennsylvania House Democrats issued the following news release on behalf of Pennsylvania State Rep. Steve McCarter, D-Montgomery:
State Rep. Steve McCarter, D-Montgomery, today announced a $500,000 grant has been awarded to Salus University's Physician Assistant Program from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.
"I am pleased to see the state make a meaningful investment in our community," McCarter said. "This project will help to develop Pennsylvania's health care delivery team by preparing graduates to be physician assistants."
The RACP funds will help renovate two 50-seat traditional lecture style classrooms into collaborative learning environments, renovate its clinical procedures lab and add a patient treatment simulation lab.
RACP is administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenues, or other measures of economic activity.
RACP projects are state-funded projects that cannot obtain primary funding under other state programs.
