Oversea Yacht Insurance Increases Marine General Liability Access for Marine Artisans

Business Wire

In partnership with AXA XL, Oversea Yacht Insurance brings to market the Marine Artisan Product, meant to streamline insurance obligations across jobs for marine contractors

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Oversea Yacht Insurance, an EPIC Company (“Oversea Yacht Insurance”), that offers comprehensive insurance solutions for the maritime industry, brings to market the Marine Artisan Product designed to overcome some of the most costly and time consuming challenges independent marine contractors face. The product was crafted in partnership with AXA XL to meet the unique insurance needs of marine artisans that specialize in the various areas of boat construction, maintenance, and repair, including fiberglass repair, marine carpentry, hull cleaning, electronics installation and repair, marine HVAC and plumbing, and engine and machinery servicing.

The Marine Artisan Product was designed to provide contractors with on-demand access to their policies along with the ability to produce Certificates of Insurance in real-time, all by using a smartphone or mobile device. The policy was developed to encompass the necessary coverage unique to the nature of maritime work and meet the requirements of most shipyards and marinas.

“High-cost claims have led shipyards and marinas throughout the United States to modernize, and part of this renaissance is shoring up their contractor insurance requirements,” said Chris Coleman, Director of Commercial Marine for Oversea Yacht Insurance. “We saw a need in the marine industry for easier access to proof of insurance and comprehensive policies for the specialized workforce. With the Marine Artisan Product these contractors will no longer be stuck waiting at the shipyard or marina gate for their insurance agent to get back to them, resulting in faster project turnover within the yard, which ultimately benefits everyone.”

“Through the insure-tech platforms available to clients of EPIC, the Oversea Yacht Insurance team was able to fill a critical need for marine contractors,” added Adam Meyerowitz, President - Midwest and Southeast Region at EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants.

Oversea Yacht Insurance and AXA XL are removing one of the barriers to entry for specialty contractors in the marine industry with availability to new ventures. The A+ rated paper insurance product offers a timely and efficient submission process. Oversea Yacht Insurance also offers comprehensive lines of coverage including workers compensation and USL&H for the marine industry.
