OpenGate Capital Recognizes Hufcor for its Contribution to Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Hufcor and JJ Watt Foundation Teamed up to Collect and Deliver Much Needed Supplies

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- OpenGate Capital, a global private equity firm, congratulated its portfolio company, Hufcor, Inc., for its efforts in teaming up with the JJ Watt Foundation to deliver critical supplies to members of the Houston community impacted by the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.

In early September, as flooding from Hurricane Harvey continued to force people from their homes, JJ Watt, the Houston Texans’ superstar defensive end and Wisconsin native, and his JJ Watt Foundation sought assistance from Wisconsin-area businesses to support the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. Scott Staedter, Hufcor’s Director of Global Projects, answered the call and came up with the idea of collecting food and cleaning supplies from Wisconsin residents and then using Hufcor’s fleet of semi-trucks to deliver supplies to Houston residents.
