EMERYVILLE, Calif. (AP) _ NMI Holdings Inc. (NMIH) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $38.2 million.
The Emeryville, California-based company said it had profit of 45 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were 47 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 37 cents per share.
The mortgage insurance company posted revenue of $107.8 million in the period.
NMI Holdings shares have dropped 31% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $22.79, a decrease of 22% in the last 12 months.
