Nimishillen Township trustees approve new insurance plan
Canton Repository (OH)
Thursday meeting
KEY ACTION: Approved new insurance plan.
DISCUSSION: Andy Leitch of the Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority (OTARMA) said the new policy increases the township building values by $2.7 million and the physical vehicles by $3.6 million. The new policy also includes surety bonds and a
cyber policy.
The township will cancel its prior coverage and expect a prorated refund of the $21,000 semi-annual premium.
The new coverage will be effective July 15 at a cost of $44,519 annually. As new equipment is added, OTARMA must be notified. The rates will go down as the current 1,000 townships now enrolled with OTARMA increases, according to Leitch.
OTHER ACTION:
Approved Fiscal Office payments of $2,511 to Ohio Billing for June, and $997.90 to the Stark County Metropolitan Sewer District for two invoices.
Approved the change of status of Dave and Chris Hallas from part-time to full-time firefighter-paramedics, effective Aug.1 and July 14 respectively, with an hourly rate of $21.50 per hour. They are father and son.
Accepted the resignation of firefighter Adam Gladtsz, effective July 14.
Approved an assessment of $9,550 for demolition and a $250 fee at 9055 Columbus Road NE.
