Nationwide® Announces Best Pet Insurance Plan Ever
Whole Pet with Wellness from Nationwide is the only pet insurance product that offers coverage for medical, emergency and wellness care in one plan. Additionally, Whole Pet with Wellness offers 90 percent reimbursement for its members on eligible veterinary expenses, inclusive of office visits, diagnostic testing, prescriptions and wellness care (such as vaccinations, flea/tick control, teeth cleaning, spay/neuter, etc).
"We are proud to offer a pet insurance plan that is easy to understand, affordable and offers the best coverage to our members," said Liles. "Our members can visit any licensed veterinarian in the world, and will be reimbursed 90 percent of eligible expenses."
Examples of Whole Pet with Wellness Coverage
- Veterinary exams, including wellness, specialty and emergency visits
- Wellness care, including vaccinations, teeth cleaning, flea, tick and heartworm control, and spay/neuter
- Hospitalization and surgeries
- Injuries and illnesses, including cancer and hereditary/congenital conditions
- Diagnostic testing, including X-rays, MRIs, CT scans and ultrasounds
- Prescribed nutritional supplements, therapeutic diets and medications
- Prescribed holistic, alternative and preventive care
"Veterinary care has evolved greatly over the years and many treatment options we have for humans can now be done to save the lives of our pets," said Liles. "As such, these treatments can run into the thousands of dollars. A pet insurance policy can offset these costs, allowing pet owners to make optimal healthcare decisions for their pets based on their veterinarian's recommendation rather than on the cost of treatment."
How does Whole Pet with Wellness Work?
The plan offers a choice of two annual deductibles -
"A key differentiator for Whole Pet with Wellness is the annual deductible," said Liles. "Many pet health insurance companies offer per incident deductibles, which the pet owner incurs each time he or she takes their pet to the veterinarian for a new issue. With Nationwide's Whole Pet with Wellness plan, once the annual deductible is met, members will receive 90 percent reimbursement for eligible veterinary expenses through their annual policy term."
What are Eligible Veterinary Expenses?
Whole Pet with Wellness from Nationwide is the only pet insurance plan in the U.S. to provide medical, wellness and emergency care. The only items not eligible for coverage are pre-existing conditions, non-veterinary fees (such as tax and waste disposal) and boarding/grooming.
"Our primary intention with this product is to provide our members with the best coverage at an affordable price to help them protect what matters most – their pets," said Liles. "There is no pet insurance plan in today's marketplace that can rival Whole Pet with Wellness from Nationwide."
