N.H. Insurance Dept. Hosts Successful Property & Casualty Markets Symposium

CONCORD, New Hampshire, March 14 -- The New Hampshire Department of Insurance issued the following news release:

The New Hampshire Insurance Department (NHID) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Property & Casualty Markets Symposium, held on Monday, March 11 th . The event, which featured industry experts and insightful discussions, provided attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends and developments in the property and casualty insurance markets.

"The Property & Casualty Markets Symposium exemplifies our commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the insurance industry," said D.J. Bettencourt, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Insurance Department. "The event provided a unique opportunity for industry professionals to gain insights from experts and network with peers. By facilitating dialogue and facilitating access to valuable resources, we contribute to the growth and resilience of the property and casualty insurance sector in New Hampshire and beyond. We are excited about the opportunity to host similar events in the coming years."

The symposium began with a keynote presentation delivered by Dr. Robert Hartwig, Clinical Associate Professor of Finance at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Hartwig's presentation, titled "Under Pressure: Cost Drivers in the P&C Insurance Industry," offered invaluable perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

Following the keynote presentation, attendees had the opportunity to engage in a panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by DJ Bettencourt, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Insurance Department. The panel included distinguished industry professionals Lee T. Dowgiewicz, President and CEO of Co-operative Insurance Companies, George Roussos, Shareholder at Orr & Reno, Christian Citarella, Chief Property and Casualty Actuary at the NHID, and Dr. Robert Hartwig.
