N.C. Utilities Commission Issues Order on National Budget Movers of Raleigh

RALEIGH, N.C., March 3 -- The North Carolina Utilities Commission issued the following order involving National Budget Movers, Raleigh, North Carolina:

In the Matter of National Budget Movers, Inc., 7921 Broad Street, Raleigh, North Carolina 27613 - Termination of Liability Insurance Coverage

ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE IN THE MATTER OF REVOCATION OF CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPTION FOR FAILURE TO MAINTAIN INSURANCE

BY THE COMMISSION: The Commission has been advised by the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles that they have received notification from Nationwide Insurance Company, that your liability insurance was canceled as of February 17, 2017.

On February 6, 2017, in Docket No. T-100, Sub 103, the Commission issued an Order suspending the certificate of exemption of the above-named motor carrier for failure to keep on file with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, For-Hire Section, evidence of insurance for the protection of the public as required by G.S. 62-268 and Commission Rule R2-36. The said motor carrier should be required to appear and show cause why its certificate of exemption should not be revoked.

IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED as follows:

1. That, National Budget Movers, Inc., be, and the same is hereby, required to appear in Commission Hearing Room 2115, Dobbs Building, 430 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017, and show cause, if any it has, why its certificate of exemption should not be revoked for willful failure to maintain on file with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles, For-Hire Section, appropriate security for the protection of the public as is required by G.S. 62-268 and Commission Rule R2-36.

2. That any questions regarding your liability insurance filing (Form E) should be directed to Nicholas Jeffries at 919-733-4036.
