Nashville-based employee benefits and insurance services provider Mployer has announced the addition of Steve Strickland as chief technology officer.
A press release does not note whom Strickland replaces or if the position is new to the software and data company.
Strickland previously worked as a data engineer with HealthTrust Performance Group, an HCA Healthcare affiliate that ranks among the nation's largest healthcare group purchasing organizations.
At Mployer, Strickland leads technology efforts for the company's platform, including Catalyst, Insights, Vista, Pulse and Atlas. His priorities include scaling the company's AI capabilities and expanding its data platform.
Strickland holds a bachelor's degree in computer information systems from Excelsior University and an associate's degree, also in CIS, from Nashville State Community College.
"Steve is one of the most talented healthcare technology leaders in the country," Brian Freeman, CEO of Mployer, said in the release.
"He [has] spent his career on the provider side, building the platforms behind purchasing decisions for health systems nationally. Steve now brings that scale and precision to the $1.5 trillion employer-sponsored healthcare and insurance market. His pace and intellect, paired with what AI makes possible now, will raise what our partners are able to do for the employers and employees they serve."
Having begun operations in 2020, Mployer bills itself as the nation's largest independent platform allowing employers to research, review and evaluate insurance brokers.
