NOAA'sNational Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), in collaboration with the National Hurricane Center (NHC), has updated the list of the costliest tropical cyclones to strike the United States.
This updated data set includes more comprehensive loss information, such as impacts on agriculture, individual payouts, and federal disaster relief funds. The assessments are based on data from various sources, including the National Weather Service, FEMA, USDA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, state emergency management agencies, climate centers, media reports, and insurance estimates.
