Mississippi Black Caucus pushes to revive initiatives, expand Medicaid
Most of the caucus members are Democrats, and Republicans hold a wide majority in both chambers. Several Mississippi hospitals are struggling to remain open because of financial problems. Mississippi is among 11 states that have not expanded Medicaid to people who work in low-wage jobs that don't provide health insurance.
