LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Mercury General Corp. (MCY) on Monday reported first-quarter earnings of $27 million.
The Los Angeles-based company said it had profit of 49 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, came to 20 cents per share.
The auto insurance company posted revenue of $847.5 million in the period.
Mercury General shares have risen 2 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 16 percent in the last 12 months.
