LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Mercury General Corp. (MCY) on Tuesday reported third-quarter earnings of $118.9 million.
The Los Angeles-based company said it had profit of $2.15 per share. Earnings, adjusted for investment gains, came to $1.23 per share.
The auto insurance company posted revenue of $998.8 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $934.3 million.
Mercury General shares have declined 15% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $41.19, a decline of 13% in the last 12 months.
