NEWARK, N.J. - U.S. Senator Bob Menendez today stood up for the nearly 800,000 New Jerseyans and more than 20 million Americans who have health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). He told the more than 2,000 gathered at a rally in Newark in strong opposition to Republican efforts to repeal the ACA: "We are here today to save the Affordable Care Act, to save lives and to make sure we save people's health insurance."
The senator was joined at the rally by U.S. Senator Cory Booker, U.S. Reps. Frank Pallone, Jr. (N.J.-06), Bill Pascrell, Jr. (N.J.-09), Albio Sires (N.J.-08), Donald Payne, Jr. (N.J.-10), Bonnie Watson Coleman (N.J.-12), Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, State Assemblyman Tim Eustace, state labor leaders and health care advocates.
