McSally: We Can’t Go Back to the Health Care Plan I Voted for
Targeted News Service (Press Releases)
WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 -- The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee issued the following news release:
It was one of the most glaring and damaging moments of the Arizona Senate debate: Congresswoman Martha McSally said we can't go back to the health care plan that she voted for:
* Sahil Kapur, Bloomberg News: "Helluva line from Arizona GOP Senate candidate Martha McSally tonight: 'We cannot go back to where we were before Obamacare, where people were one diagnosis away from going bankrupt.' She voted for the AHCA, which repealed Obamacare."
* Washington Examiner: "Rep. Martha McSally, R-Ariz., who is running for an open U.S. Senate seat in Arizona, said that America cannot go back to where it was before Obamacare, a law she voted to repeal several times."
* Igor Bobic, HuffPost: "I voted to protect people with preexisting conditions," McSally says in #AZSEN debate. She voted for the AHCA, which would have repealed Obamacare (and its protections for preexisting conditions)"
Today, Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokesman David Bergstein released the following statement: "Arizonans got a good look at why McSally's being described as 'flustered' and 'exasperated' -- and why newspapers called her a lying 'actress.' Her healthcare bill that guts coverage for pre-existing conditions, spikes premiums and imposes an age tax would be a disaster for Arizonans, and last night she admitted it in front of everyone."
