Martin’s Point Health Care replaces legacy AV with Endgame

PR Newswire

ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Endgame, the leader in endpoint protection against targeted attacks, today announced it has won a contract with Martin's Point Health Care (MPHC), a non-profit primary health care and health insurance provider. MPHC chose Endgame after a competitive selection process because of its ability to protect against the most malicious attack types across the MITRE ATT&CK™ Matrix and ease of use for inexperienced analysts. Endgame's platform will protect MPHC from a new generation of customized attacks often undetected by legacy antivirus products.

"Visibility and fast response across our network are critical to protecting our infrastructure," said Matthew Witten, CISO for Martin's Point Health Care. "Endgame's ability to provide full-stack protection gave us the confidence to replace traditional-AV solution and give comprehensive protection at the earliest stages of the attack lifecycle."

Martin's Point Health Care (MPHC) employs 800 full-time staff across 18 US locations. Their small and nimble enterprise security team is tasked with protecting critical patient health records and ensuring regulatory compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and PCI DSS. In addition, keeping pace with a constant onslaught of  targeted attacks is a key priority for MPHC. Their current antivirus solution failed to provide visibility and protection to safeguard critical patient information and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The MPHC security team required a solution that addressed three primary challenges:

  • Block targeted attacks including and beyond malware.
  • Monitor 24x7 device activity, even when offline.
  • Provide the MPHC Board and leadership a status of the health of their enterprise network.

Martin's Point Health Care performed an extensive evaluation of endpoint security options, including cloud-based next-gen AV solutions. Endgame was the only solution providing comprehensive visibility with full-stack protection across the breadth and depth of the MITRE ATT&CK™ matrix. Other next generation-AV solutions were too complex for junior analysts to use and too slow to stop unknown threats. The MPHC team found Endgame's distributed architecture and robust two-way API seamlessly integrating with other existing network tools and operational processes within their environment.

"We've seen targeted attacks against healthcare organizations increase dramatically in 2017, most notably with the WannaCry and NotPetya ransomware attacks," said Nate Fick, Endgame CEO. "We're thrilled that Martin's Point recognized Endgame's unique ability to stop the next generation of targeted attacks through its patented preventions and ease of use powered by our chatbot Artemis."

Endgame's comprehensive endpoint protection platform succeeds where others fail, detecting attacks at their earliest stage without prior threat intelligence. Endgame developed its technology working with the most attacked organizations in the world, including the U.S. Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. This announcement builds on recent independent evaluations confirming that Endgame is uniquely positioned to replace antivirus technologies and eliminate the need for multiple agents with a single-agent prevention, detection and response, and threat hunting platform.
