TYSONS, Va., Aug. 2 -- The Logistics Management Institute issued the following news:
LMI was awarded a four-year follow-on contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight's (CCIIO's) Marketplace Plan Management Group (MPMG). The contract award has an overall value of up to $49.7 million with a base year value of $11.9 million. Under this contract, LMI will perform issuer management operations and plan analytics and review activities.
"Over the past five years, we've shown our commitment to CCIIO through the development of dedicated review and analysis tools customized for MPMG's mission," said Program Director Whitney Owen. "We are excited to continue our partnership with CCIIO's plan management team and look forward to improving our support to the marketplace over the next four years."
The majority of the work will be done by LMI employees at its headquarters located in Tysons, Virginia, and its Southwest Regional Office in San Antonio, Texas. The work includes operations support of the qualified health plan certification process, performing certification reviews in the Federal-Facilitated Marketplace states, and providing ad hoc research and analysis for CMS.
"As an organization that upholds industry standards in both domestic and global health, it's imperative that we remain active in work that impacts the lives of millions of Americans," said Pat Tamburrino, vice president of the Health Management group at LMI. "Winning this follow-on work is a great accomplishment for our strategic growth plan in the health industry."
