Library hosting free enrollment and Medicaid application appointments

BOONE — The Watauga County Public Library is hosting free enrollment and Medicaid application appointments every Wednesday until Jan. 10.
The NC Navigator Consortium, under the leadership of Legal Aid of North Carolina, will help those interested understand the insurance options available in North Carolina through the Health Insurance Marketplace and Medicaid.
A certified Health Care Navigator will be available at the Watauga County Public Library every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. until Jan. 10. The library will be closed Dec. 27. For appointments, call (828) 239-2985.
Health Care Navigators are federally qualified and have no affiliation with health insurance carriers. The NC Navigator Consortium is funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid, part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The Health Care Navigator will offer free, unbiased assistance to find affordable, quality plans with the Health Care Marketplace or Medicaid. The Navigator can also help community members apply for Medicaid.
