The annual Jackson Hole symposium kicks off this Thursday marked by market expectations of further interest rate cuts in the US between now and December, but also by the pressures of the Trump administration on the independence of the Federal Reserve and its chairman, Jerome Powell, who will present a review of the Fed’s policy framework.
