Insurance Industry Veteran Mark Boland Joins IAT Insurance’s Specialty Business Unit

RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- IAT Insurance Group announces the hiring of Mark F. Boland as Vice President, Specialty leading IAT Specialty unit’s brokerage and excess & umbrella teams. Boland brings 40 years of insurance experience to the role. He joins IAT on September 10^th and will report to Julie Brown, Senior Vice President, Specialty.

Boland joins IAT after serving as president of Merit Specialty, an excess and surplus lines division of Hanover Insurance Company. Boland formed that business unit, which specializes in medium-sized accounts exhibiting a low degree of frequency and moderate exposure to severity.

Earlier in his career, Boland founded Coventry Managers, which was rebranded as ENH Managers when it was sold to Endurance U.S. Insurance Company in 2011. Boland was named a senior vice president for the company. He also previously served as president and CEO of Hermitage Insurance Company.

Boland holds a B.S. in accounting and finance from Pennsylvania State University. He will be based in the company’s Cheshire, Connecticut office.
