In Good Company

Staff WriterVictoria Advocate

Tim McCoy was named president of Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance Association and its subsidiaries on June 1. The announcement was made by David Mueller, Hochheim's chairman of the board. McCoy superseded Linda Schmidt, who retired on May 31 with over 46 years of service.

McCoy has served as Hochheim's secretary-treasurer and chief financial officer since 2013. He served in various management roles from 2003-2013 and began his career with the company as a claims representative in 2002.

Troy Kramer was named as the new secretary-treasurer and chief financial officer on June 3. He served as the Claims Manager from 2014-2024 and began as a claims representative in 2012. Troy came to Hochheim Prairie Insurance with eleven years of management experience.

"Tim has been a valued member of Hochheim's management team for many years. His talents as secretary-treasurer will assure his successful transition to President. As the 13th president of Hochheim Prairie Farm Mutual Insurance Association, Tim is prepared for the challenges of carrying on the company's standards, vision and mission set forth by its founding fathers 132 years ago.

"His selection of Troy Kramer as the new chief financial officer has solidified the management team in order to take the company to the next level," said Chairman David Mueller.

McCoy has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has served as the Texas Association of Mutual Insurance Association's Secretary-Treasurer and chairman of the , golf tournament and audit committees. In addition, he serves on the claims committee with the Insurance Council of Texas and formerly served on the emergency risk management and emerging risks committee for the American Property Casualty Insurers Association.

McCoy has been very active in the community serving in local leadership positions including Yoakum City Council; board member of Lakeside Club, Yoakum Summer Recreation Program, Yoakum Economic Development Corporation; and Yoakum Little League where he also served as a volunteer coach. He is an active Rotarian and currently serves as treasurer for the Yoakum Rotary Club and Yoakum Rotary Foundation.

Tim and his wife, Shara, reside in Yoakum and have three children.

Kramer received his Associate in Claims and Associate in Claims-Management designations in 2014; Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter designation in 2015 from the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters; Associate in Personal Insurance in 2016; Associate in Accounting and Finance designation in 2017; and Associate in Insurance Services in 2018.
