In the recent wake of Hurricane Matthew, the American Red Cross is currently delivering vital emergency supplies and services in the impacted areas on the East coast. At the same time, crews are battling wildfires across the state of Colorado where families have lost their homes. A home fire is the most common disaster. On average, Red Cross volunteers respond to a disaster once a day right here in Colorado. While we support this type of daily disaster, we also support the wildfires, such as the Junkins Fire currently causing so many to be evacuated and left seeking shelter. It's this kind of generosity that helps us fulfill our promise to be there, to give hope and help to those who find themselves in need.

At an annual conference last month, attended by Fitzgerald, in San Diego, CA, the Automotive Fleet and Leasing Association (AFLA) announced the American Red Cross as their 2017 Charity of the Year partner. AFLA highlights a charity each year, encouraging members to support the charity through volunteerism and/or donations.

Directly following the presentation, Fitzgerald pledged the $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross. The check presentation took place at iLendingDIRECT's Englewood, CO office. On hand from the American Red Cross of Colorado & Wyoming Chapter were four board members; Lori O'Flaherty, former SVP at CoBank, Tammie Lowrie, Partner at BKD, Dr. David Markenson, Division VP Graduate Medical Education for the Continental and Mountain Divisions with HCA Physician Services Group and Jenni Gasbarro, Senior Director Donor Relations.
