ICYMI: SENATOR BLUNT ROCHESTER DISCUSSES HOUSING, FED CHAIR WARSH, BILL PULTE ON CNBC'S "SQUAWK BOX"

States News Service

The following information was released by Delaware Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester:

Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, todayappeared onCNBC's "Squawk Box." She discussed the21stCentury ROAD to Housing Act, Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh, and Bill Pulte's appointment as Acting Director of National Intelligence.

A key excerpt can be found below.

Andrew Ross Sorkin: "Kevin Warsharguably isan eminently qualified person in terms of his experience, yet you voted against himand I want to understand why.Was that a vote just to send a signal, or was that because you did not believe that heactually shouldbe in this role?"

Senator Blunt Rochester: "I thought he and I hada very goodmeeting in my office before the hearing. I shared with him some of my concerns. I also let him know ahead of time that I wouldprobably bevoting no for him.I'mstill waiting on some information that I asked him about, even in the hearing. As you could see from the hearing, I tried to bevery kindof clear about my issues.

"One was, what does regime change mean, and policy change, which he talked about in the hearing, as well as in his testimony. I wanted to knowbecauseI'mseeing an administration that is taking independent agencies and organizations, and either not putting both Democrats and Republicans onthem oreven taking away some of their power. So, I wanted to hear from him specifically. What does that mean?

"I also shared with him just my concerns about the issue of AI. I was Secretary of Labor in Delaware, and head of state personnel, and so one of my big areas of focus is looking at the workforce and jobs, but also how will AI impact our economy, and so one of the things that he talked about is betting on AI as we're looking at interest rates, and for me, I want to make sure that we're thoughtful about what we are doing, and that I don't want AI to be a bubble. I want to make surewe're,we're,we'renot making decisions based on a bet, and so those were the real main reasons for me."
