Hurricane Dorian: Palm Beach real estate agencies, agents helping Bahamians

Palm Beach Post (FL)

Across Palm Beach, real estate brokers, agents and agencies have been busy mounting and supporting relief efforts for Hurricane Dorian, which brutalized the northern Bahamas on Sept. 1 and 2 as a Category 5 storm with sustained winds of 185 mph.

The Koenig family has long docked their boat, Empty Pockets, on Green Turtle Cay in the northeastern Abacos, one of the areas hardest hit Dorian.

Starting Sept. 4, the foundation began raising funds for supplies and fuel to send relief flights donated though Island Time, a charter company based at the Lantana Airport.

Kirkpatrick, meanwhile, has been helping raise donations through a GoFundMe.com for a fund named Hurricane Relief for Elbow Cay-Hope Town Relief, founded by http://www.infomaker.se/idf/1.0" id="strong-7569cf7985b71022b42ac64892ec5210">Matt and http://www.infomaker.se/idf/1.0" id="strong-7a09922920b68fbfb85d90b6449f99a0">Courtney http://www.infomaker.se/idf/1.0" id="strong-4a3f116cd87d7ff6923599fbeb8f7a46">Winslow. Corcoran also is telling agents and clients who want to donate money that the agency has aligned itself with two organizations -- the Bahamas Disaster Relief Fund established by the http://www.infomaker.se/idf/1.0" id="strong-a5b44e7fd4fc45d9a55ee302d89f84d5">Community Foundation of South Florida; and the Hurricane Dorian relief efforts of GlobalEmpowermentMission.orghttp://www.infomaker.se/idf/1.0" id="strong-73d080fea590dc72db24bd7c802097bb">. The latter will use funds directly for "purchasing flights and barges" to get supplies to the storm-ravaged areas, Hackett said.
