HUB Northwest Insurance celebrates 100 years of business in Chehalis

The Chronicle, Centralia, Wash.The Chronicle

Jun. 30—This year, HUB Northwest Insurance is celebrating 100 years of business in Chehalis.

It all started in 1924 with Virgil R. Lee, according to a news release from the business marking the centennial year.

Lee founded the agency. His son, William "Bill" Lee, joined him in 1946.

"Together they grew the firm into one of the largest agencies in Southwest Washington," HUB Northwest Insurance stated in the release. "Many dedicated staff and ownership members strived to bring the best service and expertise to their growing client base throughout the 82 years under the Virgil R. Lee and Son agency name."

In 2006, Virgil R. Lee and Son was acquired by family-owned Lovsted-Worthington of Seattle. It continued under the Virgil R. Lee and Son name as a division of Lovsted-Worthington until 2015 when National Brokerage HUB International acquired the agency. National Brokerage HUB expanded "the agency's resources of products and carrier's available to the strong service that the agency has been known for the last century," the news release stated.

"We are proud to be a part of this community and honored to be celebrating all the amazing people that have worked at our agency all the way back to 1924," said Trevor Elliott, senior advisor of commercial insurance at HUB Northwest Insurance. "It is humbling to look back on the history of our agency and the connection to the past and present of downtown Chehalis. We are thankful for the trust and support over the years from all of our loyal customers. It has been our pleasure serving this community and we look forward to continuing to do so for many years to come."

HUB International is a full-service global insurance broker providing property, casualty, employee benefits and risk management services. The headquarters for HUB's Northwest region is in Bothell. It represents offices throughout Washington, Oregon and Alaska and helps clients navigate the complexities of insurance and risk management.

For more information, visit https://www.hubinternational.com/ or the Chehalis office at 403 N. Market Blvd., No. 2. The business can be reached by telephone at 360-748-0051.
