Hoyer Statement on Being Sworn-In
to the 117th Congress
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after he was sworn-in to the 117th Congress:
"As the 117th Congress begins, our state faces numerous critical challenges that must be addressed. From fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring every Marylander can get vaccinated in the coming months to providing economic relief to working families across the state, there is much work to be done. In the 117th Congress, I will continue to work to expand opportunity; advocate for access to affordable, quality health care for all Marylanders; support efforts to improve the health of our environment and tackle the climate crisis; and work to undo the damage the Trump Administration has done to the hardworking federal workforce.
"I am honored to once again serve the people of Maryland'sFifth Congressional District. I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress and the incoming Biden-Harris Administration to enact our legislative agenda that will improve the lives of families in Maryland."
