Herminie man charged with assaulting woman, sending her threatening messages

Anthony J. Weber III was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, making terroristic threats and simple assault by state police in

"The victim said Weber pulled her out of her vehicle by her hair and slammed her to the ground, causing her to strike her head," Mihelic wrote.
Mihelic reported in court documents filed with
Mihelic said in court documents that the woman activated the speaker on her cell phone and he listened to the threats. He said the woman reported that Weber continued messaging her several hours after the incident, using a friend's phone, and "threatening to smash her head in."
Later that day, Mihelic interviewed the owner of the phone Weber allegedly used to make the threats. The woman told troopers she was in Weber's car and witnessed the assault and heard the threats.
Reached by phone Wednesday, Weber admitted he was angry "because she backed into my car and damaged it."
"She then got out of her car and started hitting me when I asked for her insurance information. I was defending myself," Weber said.
Weber declined comment about allegedly making threats against the woman for several hours after the accident.
Weber has a separate preliminary hearing scheduled before Christner
