Helping Customers Recover After Storm

MADISON, Wis., March 6 -- American Family Insurance issued the following news release:

Claim teams continue to assist thousands of customers across the Midwest who suffered property and auto damage from tornados, strong winds and hail.

So far 2500 claims have been reported in multiple states including, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

Catastrophe teams are specifically working with local claim employees and care center representatives to help customers in communities hit by tornadoes in and around Perryville, Mo. and Ottawa, Ill.

Adjusters are seeing a range of damage, from a few shingles missing, to homes completely destroyed.

Claim adjuster Scott Zero explains how claim staff approach a customer when meeting them after a storm hits.

American Family Insurance customers who have claims from storm damage should immediately contact the company's 24-hour Customer Care Center, 1-800-MY-AMFAM (692-6326). They can also report claims to their local American Family agent, or online at www.amfam.com/claims.
