Haaland to Tackle New Mexico’s Healthcare Challenges at Roundtable in the District

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico, June 14 -- Rep. Debra Haaland, D-New Mexico, issued the following news release:

On Saturday, June 15, 2019 Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) will host a roundtable aimed at tackling New Mexico's Healthcare challenges in the district.

At the roundtable, healthcare professionals, organizations, local leaders and community members will discuss solutions increasing access to healthcare, protecting the Affordable Care Act, healthcare professional recruitment, the opioid crisis, and lowering prescription drug prices.

In February, Congresswoman Deb Haaland put a Medicare for All bill on the table alongside 106 original cosponsors. The Medicare for All Act of 2019 paves a path for universal health care enrollment for all United States residents. This week, the House Ways and Means Committee held a historic hearing on the Medicare for All Act.
