H.W. Kaufman Financial Group Appoints Daniel J. Kaufman to Board of Directors

Business Wire

Promoted to Senior Vice President

DETROIT & CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- H.W. Kaufman Financial Group today announced that Daniel J. Kaufman has been promoted to Senior Vice President and appointed to its Board of Directors. Mr. Kaufman represents the third generation of Kaufman family leadership, following his late grandfather, Herbert W. Kaufman, who founded the company in 1969 and his father, Alan Jay Kaufman, who currently serves as Chairman, President and CEO.

“Kaufman is built on a legacy of financial independence, integrity and competitive drive. It is important that the company remains family owned and operated, to ensure the enduring commitment to these founding principles,” said Alan Jay Kaufman. “Danny’s strong leadership and vision for the company’s future will drive Kaufman’s continued growth and financial success.”

Daniel Kaufman currently oversees operations at the Burns & Wilcox Chicago office. As Senior Vice President, H.W. Kaufman Financial Group and Burns & Wilcox, Mr. Kaufman’s daily responsibilities include working closely with the organization’s corporate headquarters in Detroit as well as other Midwestern offices. In addition, he will be active in the company’s London operations. As the newest member of the Board, Mr. Kaufman will assume a greater role across the company’s global offices and strengthen his focus on recruitment and talent development both within Kaufman and the broader insurance industry. Mr. Kaufman was instrumental in developing Kaufman’s internal emerging leaders program.

“I am excited about the near- and long-term opportunities for the firm and to work with the board on continuing to expand the business. It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of my father and grandfather,” said Mr. Kaufman. “My passion for insurance began at a young age and has grown exponentially throughout the years. I look forward to helping direct Kaufman’s future and bringing the best risk management solutions and services to our clients.”

Mr. Kaufman (30) holds a B.A. from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan) and a J.D. from Loyola University (Chicago). He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and currently serves on several corporate, civic and advisory boards including those of the City of Hope National Insurance Industry Council, Midwest Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation, National Underwriter Magazine, Association of Lloyd’s Brokers, Metro Chicago Hillel and the Kaufman Family Foundation.
