Great American Insurance Group Introduces New Motor Truck Cargo Product to Address the Evolving Needs of Transporting Cargo

Business Wire

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Great American Insurance Group’s Property & Inland Marine Division is pleased to announce the launch of Cargo Advantage℠, a comprehensive motor truck cargo product that provides broad protection against risks uniquely associated with transporting cargo.

Cargo Advantage enhances Property & Inland Marine’s motor truck cargo coverages with the addition of limits and deductibles that can be customized to best fit the needs of various exposures, along with the introduction of a dynamic rating methodology. This rating approach rewards insureds for increased years in business, favorable loss experience, and maintaining good safety ratings. Along with low minimum premiums, coverage can be rated based on scheduled vehicles or blanket coverage based on mileage revenues.

In addition to primary coverage, seven additional coverages are included, which can respond to potentially overlooked exposures that may not be addressed in other forms unless specifically requested or endorsed. Default limits for additional coverages will vary based on the needs of the trucker and can be modified to satisfy particular requirements. Six optional coverages, along with various coverage endorsements created to cover the needs of specialized operations, round out a product offering that can be tailored to the distinct demands of any trucking operation, from large fleet trucking operations to single-unit owner-operators.

When accidents occur, claims are handled by an in-house team of cargo claim experts. Greg Patterson, Divisional Assistant Vice President, Property & Inland Marine, states, “Our dedicated team of cargo specialists is specifically trained to help our insureds during a difficult time. They have the education and skills to navigate the most complex cargo claims. We’re proud to offer this specialized product to our policyholders.”
