Freedom Health Will Offer Medicare Advantage Plans in 25 Florida Counties for 2019

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Freedom Health (Freedom) will be offering up to eight Medicare Advantage health plans in 25 counties in 2019. Medicare-eligible individuals living in Marion County will have one new Freedom plan available to them for next year. These 2019 health plans are open for enrollment in this year’s Medicare annual election period (AEP), which begins October 15 and continues through December 7, 2018.

Individuals eligible for Medicare – people 65 years and older and those with certain disabilities, chronic conditions, and other special needs – are able to enroll in the following 2019 Medicare Advantage health plans based on availability in their county of residence:

In Lake, Marion, and Sumter Counties, enrollees in Freedom Platinum Plan Rx will have access to a Part B Buydown of $65. When members choose a plan with a Part B refund, they will receive the refund within 30-60 days once the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has confirmed the member is on the plan with Social Security. It will be an amount that is subtracted from their Part B premium.
