Former United States Senator John E. Sununu to Deliver Keynote Address at RIMS Legislative Summit

NEW YORK, Sept. 21 -- The Risk and Insurance Management Society issued the following news release:

RIMS, the risk management society(R), will welcome former United States Senator John E. Sununu as the keynote speaker at RIMS Legislative Summit scheduled for October 24 and 25 in Washington, DC. The two-day event - held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Building - will explore legislative issues that impact the practice of risk management, while providing a platform for attendees to engage with elected officials and their offices.

RIMS legislative priorities and the focus of the Summit include: the National Flood Insurance Program's reauthorization, data privacy, and a federal insurance backstop for catastrophic events. John E. Sununu served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2003 and the U.S. Senate representing New Hampshire from 2003 to 2009. He was a member of the Committees on Banking, Commerce, Finance and Foreign Relations, and he was appointed the Congressional Representative to the United Nations General Assembly. He formerly served on the Council of Lloyd's, the organization's governing body responsible for the management and supervision of the market.

RIMS Legislative Summit 2023 is scheduled for October 24 to 25, 2023 in Washington, DC at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
