Former LAUSD chief Austin Beutner sues insurer over toxic Palisades Fire damage

Attorneys representing Beutner and his wife, Virginia, submitted the complaint against
Independent environmental testing firms retained by the family discovered elevated levels of heavy metals, including lead, arsenic, zinc, and lithium, throughout the structure. Test results showed lead concentrations inside wall cavities reaching 9,574 micrograms per square foot, nearly 1,000 times the state safety threshold for residential floors. Consultants concluded the house remains uninhabitable.
