WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Rep. Scott Fitzgerald, R-Wis., announced that he has been selected to serve on the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy as well as the Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance.
According to the Thursday release, the House Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy oversees financial regulators, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Federal Reserve and its 12 banks. Additionally, the subcommittee identifies policies that grow and stabilize the financial system and broader economy.
The House Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance oversees the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Federal Housing Agency, the release said. The subcommittee also develops policies to increase housing supply and to maintain robust insurance protections for consumers.
"I’m grateful to have been selected to subcommittees on the House Financial Services Committee that meaningfully affect the Fifth District," said Fitzgerald, in the release. "Restoring economic security, safeguarding consumers, and fostering the American dream of homeownership are some of my top priorities."
