First American Title Expands Suite of Fraud Prevention Tools Within AgentNet® Platform

Business Wire

—Comprehensive set of fraud detection and analysis tools now includes enhanced identity verification with every First American transaction—

SANTA ANA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
First American Title Insurance Company, a leading provider of title insurance and settlement services and the largest subsidiary of First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), today announced an expansion of the fraud prevention services included with every First American transaction, broadening its multi-layered approach to fraud prevention. Available exclusively to First American policy-issuing title agents through the AgentNet® platform, the enhanced suite now features advanced identity verification technology, powered by Intellicheck, a leader in identity verification. By confirming the identities of real estate transaction participants early in the process, the new service delivers greater protection and adheres to the latest industry best practices, reducing fraud risk for First American title agents and their customers.

“The threat from real estate fraud continues to grow, making early identity verification an essential safeguard for our industry,” said Steve Vincini, president of First American Title's Agency Division. “AgentNet is built with our agents in mind and by integrating leading-edge, AI-driven identity verification into our solutions, we’re reinforcing our long-standing commitment to deliver the certainty and trust that powers seamless real estate transactions.”

Fraud risk continues to rise across industries, with cyber-enabled losses exceeding $13.7 billion in 2024, according to the FBI’s Internet Crime Report. To help agents stay ahead of these threats, AgentNet combines First American’s unmatched data assets with real-time identity verification. The new service enhances AgentNet’s multi-layered defense against fraud, combining real-time insights, secure wire and payoff verification, identity confirmation, and, where available, added protection through the company’s Eagle Policy®. Together, these safeguards protect against today’s most persistent fraud threats, giving agents and their customers greater confidence in every transaction.
