Fire devastates Beekmantown home
Firefighters arrived to find flames already blazing through the roof,

The home was a pair of geodesic domes connected with a walkway, Menard said.
He said that a man he believes was the home's sole resident reported the fire after being woken by the smell of smoke.
Menard did not know the man's name, but believed he had friends or residents in the area to stay with.

Firefighters engaged in an interior attack and had the fire knocked down in about 10 minutes.
Yet the home was "pretty much a total loss between smoke and fire damage," Menard said.
One particular challenge that firefighters faced was cold weather, with temperatures hovering around 10 degrees according to weather records taken at
"It was definitely cold this morning," he said.
FIRE CAUSE
No injuries to the resident, firefighters or pets were reported, he said.
Menard said he believed there was insurance on the property.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Sunday, though Menard said it appeared to have originated from a portable generator.
Mutual aid was provided by departments from
Clinton County Cars 7 and 16 also responded.
