FINSTAD HOSTS CROP INSURANCE DISCUSSION WITH USDA RMA ADMINISTRATOR SWANSON, SOUTHERN MINNESOTA AG PRODUCERS

Today, Congressman Brad Finstad (MN-01), fourth-generation farmer and member of the House Agriculture Committee, hosted a roundtable discussion in Faribault with U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA) Administrator Pat Swanson to hear from southern Minnesota agricultural producers and local crop insurance agents about the availability and effectiveness of federal crop insurance programs following improvements made through H.R. 1, the Working Families Tax Cuts.

"I know firsthand that crop insurance is the number one risk management tool that farmers depend on, which is why I'm especially proud of the work we've done in the Working Families Tax Cuts to strengthen our federal crop insurance programs, making coverage more accessible and affordable," said Rep. Finstad. "I'm grateful that Administrator Swanson could join me today to hear from the men and women who are directly benefiting from these provisions and discuss ways we can continue to improve our federal crop insurance programs for the farmers and rural families who need them.
