Federal jury finds two guilty of millionaire fraud in Mayagüez

A federal jury of eight women and four men found two people guilty in federal court for the $9 million fraud against Mayagüez Economic Development Inc. The sentencing hearing against Arnaldo Irizarry and Alejandro Riera Fernández was scheduled for February 8, 2023. They were the only ones who opted to go to trial out of the group of seven defendants.
