Fed to Release 2026 Bank Stress Test Results on June 24

Exploring the policies, markets and global events influencing currencies and the movement of money worldwide

  • Federal Reserve to publish annual bank stress test results at 4 p.m. EDT on June 24.
  • Thirty-two large U.S. banks were evaluated under a scenario featuring a severe global recession and significant stress in real estate and corporate debt markets.
  • Results will not affect bank capital requirements, as the Fed has frozen current stress-test capital buffers through 2027.

June 11, 2026 – via  CurrencyNewsWire — The Federal Reserve announced that results from its annual stress test of 32 large U.S. banks will be released on June 24. The exercise assesses whether major lenders hold sufficient capital to absorb losses and continue lending during a severe economic downturn. This year’s scenario included a deep global recession, heightened pressure in commercial and residential real estate markets, and stress in corporate debt markets. The Fed noted that the results will not alter banks’ capital requirements, following its decision earlier this year to maintain existing stress-test capital buffers until updated methodologies are implemented in 2027.
