Experts Speak on Future of Health Care Reform at Regis

WESTON, Mass., March 6 -- Regis College issued the following news release:

Regis, a leading Catholic university in Greater Boston, will convene experts to speak on health care reform at the first of two spring forums on March 22, 2017, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Fine Arts Center on the Weston campus.

The forum, "Improving Health Care Quality through Innovation and Health Reform," will feature a discussion on the issues of health care costs and quality as well as how health care reform is working in Massachusetts overall. The event is free and open to the public.

The panel, moderated by Regis President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, includes: David Seltz, executive director of the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission; Jeanette Clough, president and executive officer at Mt. Auburn Hospital; Karen M. Smith, MCRP, chief executive officer at Massachusetts Quality Partners; and Jayne Rogers, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CPHQ, nursing director at Boston Children's Hospital.

"Regis has made a tradition of assessing health care reform every March, right around the time of the anniversary of the enactment of the Affordable Care Act," said Hays. "With the uncertainty of the ACA due to the change in administration, it's a good opportunity to look at the current state of health care reform."

The Regis President's Lecture Series on Health was established in 2007 and is co-sponsored by Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. The unique series of lectures is designed to challenge the community to develop new skills around contemporary health and wellness issues and learn to effect positive change.
