HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Everest Re Group Ltd. (RE) on Wednesday reported first-quarter profit of $16.6 million.
The Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had net income of 41 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $4.03 per share.
The reinsurance company posted revenue of $1.98 billion in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $2.21 billion.
Everest Re shares have fallen 41% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $164.47, a fall of 31% in the last 12 months.
